Rachel is one of the many actors/artist who supports the Alzheimer’s Association via The Elephant Project.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer research. Blue Planet Network

Rachel revealed a list of books that made a difference to Oprah Magazine including the book Blue Planet Run by Rick Smolan and Jennifer Erwitt. She also loves the book because all its profits go to the Blue Planet Run Foundation. The book was also picked as ‘August’s Green Read’ (2008) at Greenissexy.org.

The Sunshine Foundation of Canada

Rachel, Alanis Morissette, Nelly Furtado and Linda Evangelista donated a handbag for the Sunshine and Stars Contest to support The Sunshine Foundation of Canada.

The Sunshine Foundation is the only Canadian charity to provide individual dreams to children with severe physical disabilities (such as spina bifida or cerebral palsy) as well as life-threatening illnesses. In fact, 80% of Sunshine Kids are challenged by a severe physical disability. » More Information

Tree Planting Organizations

As co-founder of Green Is Sexy Rachel is trying to lighten her footprint on the earth by supporting Tree Planting Organizations. You can head over to Friend of Trees and find a Tree Planting Organization near you. She never mentioned one particular tree planting organization, but her website Greenissexy.org did mention the following organizations:

The National Arbor Day Foundation
As trees grow, they help stop global warming by removing carbon dioxide, storing carbon, and releasing oxygen. Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can generate $31,250 worth of air pollution control, recycle $37,500 worth of water, and control $31,500 worth of soil erosion. A donation will go to education, planting, reforestation, conferences, and much more.

United Way Toronto

Rachel attended a special charity event, were they screened “The Notebook“, held in June 2004 to raise money for United Way Toronto. In May 2012 Rachel, among other actors, donated her blue Elie Saab leather clutch bag, which she was spotted with in Los Angeles a few times, to an action to raise money for United Way.
