Press Highlights: SH2, The Vow & Twitter

There isn’t much to update you on lately. Rachel is done with promoting “Midnight in Paris” and there is still no confirmation on the ‘in development’ projects like “Luna“, “The Silver Linings Playbook” and “Ecstasia“. But here are some press highlights from this week.

• The first official trailer for “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” was released yesterday. It aired on Entertainment tonight and was released via Itunes afterwards. You can watch and download the trailer via this link. The official website is also up, with a temporary version. Rachel only has a cameo (small part) in the movie, so we didn’t get any footage of Rachel as Irene Adler in the trailer.

• Scott Speedman recently talked to Movie Web about one of his recent movies, but he also talked a little bit about “The Vow” and his character. We added the quote to our “The Vow” information page.

Can you talk about your character in The Vow at all?
My character in The Vow is I’m Rachel McAdams’ ex-fiancee. She loses her memory in the movie and she can’t remember her current husband, Channing Tatum, but she remembers me, so she goes back to her old life and we kind of spark things up a little bit. It’s a good character, a bit different than the stuff I’ve usually done, which was interesting for me to do. It was great to work with all those people.

• We can also report Rachel does not have a twitter account. Michael Sheen, her “Midnight in Paris” co-star, confirmed himself a few hours ago she doesn’t have a twitter account when someone asked him. You can follow our twitter account @rachelmonline.

• “Midnight in Paris” still goes strong in the US. It’s still in the top 12 after being released in May, and it’s on it’s way to be Woody Allen’s highest-grossing movie ever!

Rounding out the Top 12, Midnight in Paris declined 26 percent to $2.6 million. With a total of $38.6 million, it’s now a lock to pass Hannah and Her Sisters ($40.1 million) to become director Woody Allen’s highest-grossing movie ever.

We recently came across some additions of Rachel on set of her upcoming movie, co-starring Channing Tatum, “The Vow” which is expected to release February 10, 2012. We added the full set of Michael Sheen visiting Rachel on set of the movie in Toronto (October 16th, 2010) and an untagged version of Rachel on set wearing the pink wedding dress in Chicago (October 26th, 2010).

According to the official facebook from Channing Tatum’s Official website Channing Tatum Unwrapped the movie already had it’s first early screening a few weeks ago (April 2011). An early screening is common, sometimes they screen a movie a few times with audience to see how they respond for the editing process.

Collider Interview – Talking about Upcoming Projects

Collider sat down with Rachel yesterday during the first day of press to talk about “Midnight in Paris“. Today they already published a part of the interview were Rachel was talking about her upcoming projects. She officially confirmed her cameo in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows“, and even confirmed she did some filming in London as well – we already saw set photos of her in Strasbourg – she also talks about “The Vow” and the Terrence Malick project.

Was it fun to get to play Irene Adler again? Were there things about her that you wanted to explore a little more?
McAdams: Yeah. I just have a small cameo in this one, but it was nice to revisit. It’s why I’ve always thought I would like to do television. You get really intimate with your character. Often with film, I find that you’re just really getting to know a person. They’re just starting to sink in, and then you wrap the film. So, it was nice to get to bring her back and have time to meditate on her a bit more. I liked that exercise.

Is The Vow your next film?
McAdams: We finished The Vow after Midnight in Paris, and then I went and did a Terrence Malick film after that.

What was Terrence Malick like to work with?
McAdams: He was wonderful and so inspiring. He has a very different way of working and I think it really services a real honesty and beauty in his films. It was a great experience, as an actor. You have to be very honest and very vulnerable, and take a leap and just hope someone will catch you, and he does. You can just let yourself go and let him take you where he’s going to take you, and trust that it will be interesting and compelling. You don’t have to do a lot, in a weird way. It was a great experience.

On set of “The Vow” with Family Carpenter

We recently came across a photo of Rachel and Channing Tatum with the family Carpenter taking while “The Vow” was filming in Chicago around October of 2010 while doing some background source for the information page of the movie. “The Vow” is currently set to release February 10, 2012 and it officially wrapped late october 2010.

The movie is based on the true story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, so it’s great to see they are involved in the filming process as well. Krickitt wrote a little bit about meeting Rachel: “She is gorgeous. Just darling. Both of them [Rachel & Channing Tatum] are great.” Entertainment Weekly previously released the first production still. The full photo can be viewed in our gallery.

First look at “The Vow”!

Entertainment Weekly gave the first exclusive preview of Rachel and her co-star Channing Tatum in their upcoming movie “The Vow” which wrapped up filming in Toronto and Chicago late last year. The movie is set to release February 10, 2012, so it’s almost a year away but it’s definitely a project to look forward to. We added the scan in our gallery, thanks to @mj_lopez and you can read the article below:

In The Vow (out Valentine’s Day 2012), McAdams stars as a woman who suffers a traumatic brain injury in a car accident and wakes up to find the past five years of her memories erased. During that time, she had married a handsome, loving man (Tatum) – but now she has no idea who he is. “We really are the sum of our memories. When that’s taken away, what do we have left?” says director Michael Sucsy (HBO’s Grey Gardens). “It’s a romantic story about a guy who has to win back his soul mate.”

“The Vow” Filming in Chicago Next Week

Looks like Rachel and Channing Tatum will be in Chicago next week to film their new movie! The filming in Rachel’s hometown Tornoto wrapped october 22th but the filming is not completly done. Check it out:

“The Vow,” starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, will film in Chicago for a few days next week. Tatum filmed the Ron Howard-directed “The Dilemma” in Chicago in June and shot “Public Enemies” here in 2008.

According to Variety, “The Vow” — which also stars Jessica Lange, Scott Speedman and Sam Neil — is about “a young woman who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity, while her husband tries to win her heart for the second time.”

The romantic drama has been shooting in Toronto.

If you live in Chicago and find out exactly where they might be shooting, please let us know.

Untitled Terrence Malick Project Update

A little update on the still untitled project of Terrence Malick: Rachel is currently filming in Oklahoma for the Terrence Malick Project, thanks to @directorsden for the information. Rachel will star alongside Ben Affleck, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko and Javier Bardem but the cast is still not officially confirmed. The filming began in mid-september and expect to continue for about two months so it ends in December.

We still know a little about the project. Terrence Malick (The New World, The Thin Red Line) has written the still untitled project and will be directing it as well. The project is described as a romance. It’s most likely Rachel is done with filming her scenes for “The Vow” wich officially wraps october 22th in Toronto but will continue shooting in Chicago.
