Warner Bros./New Line’s “The Time Traveler’s Wife” opened to an estimated $19.2 million from 2,988 screens, one of the best showings ever for a romantic drama in any part of the year. Based on the bestselling book, film placed No. 3.

I got a chance to see the movie this weekend & I thought it was a beautiful movie! What did everyone else think?

Hey everyone! As Samantha mentioned before I’m now back on the staff here at RMO. Some of you guys may remember me, I created this site & ran it for 3 years up until mid-2007. I’m so happy to be back on the staff & I missed the site so much. Anyhow, The Time Traveler’s Wife trailer was recently released, you can watch it in a bunch of different sizes here. Robert Schwentke’s big screen adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife has been sitting on the shelf for over a year. To give you an idea of how long that has been, The Time Traveler’s Wife went into post production before the non-canceled television series Journeyman even premiered. But no worries, the film will finally be released as of August 2009. The film is a romantic drama about a Chicago librarian (Eric Bana) with a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel, and the complications it creates for his marriage. Rachel McAdams and Ron Livingston co-star.

Rachel McAdams has joined the cast of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes revamp, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Notebook actress will play Irene Adler, Holmes’s enigmatic love interest. The character appeared in one Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel, 1891’s A Scandal In Bohemia, but the film incarnation is envisioned as a recurring character in a franchise.

Also among the cast are Robert Downey Jr. as the Baker Street sleuth, Mark Strong as the villainous Blackwood and Jude Law as Holmes’s confidante Watson.

Sherlock Holmes is scheduled for release in 2010.

The 31-year-old Canuck cutie Rachel McAdams and costar Eric Bana filmed a make-out sessions while re-shooting scenes for their upcoming movie, The Time Traveler’s Wife. The pair shot their scene on a park bench by King and Jarvis in Toronto, Canada on Saturday (September 13). I’ve added photos from it to the gallery!
The Time Traveler’s Wife is set to open Christmas 2008.
