Allure magazine uploaded the official behind the scenes/on set video of Rachel during her Allure August 2014 cover shoot. We added the video in our media archive and the screen captures in our gallery. The video also features her on set interview in which she talks about the inspiration for the shoot (Tess by director Roman Polanski), how her look has changed over the years, the one makeup bag item she couldn’t possibly live without, and her “dirty” signature scent.
In case you missed it: The interview excerpts and cover photoshoot can be found in our previous update.
Rachel is gracing Allure magazine’s August 2014 cover, like we previously reported, to promote “A Most Wanted Man“. Allure released a preview of the photoshoot and interview earlier today. We have added the photoshoot and behind the scenes photo in our gallery. You can find the interview excerpts below as well (Via ET Canada & JustJared). We will add the magazine scans and full interview transcript as soon as possible. The magazine will hit newsstands next week, on Tuesday, July 29.
On working with Philip Seymour Hoffman: “I learned so much from him. He really takes you under— he really took me under his wing. You feel very taken care of, but at the same time there’s an element of danger: There’s a crackle in every scene. He makes sure the stakes are very high, and there’s a safety there, too. He had so much natural, raw talent, but he worked so hard, too. He really worked for it and didn’t let up. I’m sure that wasn’t easy.”
On the legacy she wants to leave behind: “I’m hoping it’s going to be complicated and have lots of dead ends and corners and sharp turns. I hope it can’t be summed up too easily when I’m done.”
On Ryan Gosling’s Hey Girl meme: “I know you’re not going to believe me, but I don’t follow it.”
On working with Lindsay Lohan: “If anything, I was in awe of her talent. I looked at her as this experienced actor, and she had great comedic timing, so natural. It’s just funny to hear that because you never know what people are thinking. We all try to act like we’ve got it together.”
On her big-screen debut role in The Hot Chick: “I remember standing backstage, dressed like a mechanic. I had a pink bikini on underneath, grease on my face, and I just remember breathing deep and thinking, Oh, my God, I have to go out there and do this striptease, as a man…as a woman. How did I get here? It was probably one of the scariest moments I’ve had in my career. It stretched me in ways I could have never imagined. Literally.”
On if she still believes in true love: “Oh yeah, for sure. Absolutely.”

Our site turns 10 this year and while I’ve mainly focussed on keeping the news and information sections of the site up-to-date, I’ve kind of forgotten to pay attention to the older sections of our gallery. For the last few months I have been gathering a lot of photos of Rachel from various categories so we can replace (with better version) and add lots of additions to our gallery. I decided to give our entire gallery a major revamp! I have been working on reorganizing our gallery so it’s easier for you to visit and for me to maintain. From now on you can reach our (new) gallery via /gallery.
To start with, I’ve been working on the Photoshoot & Portraits section in our gallery. We replaced a lot of photos with better quality ones. A list with the updated albums can be found inside this post, but be sure to check out our entire Photoshoot & Portraits section! Many thanks to my friends Claudia, Allie and Annie for their donations!
While I am working on our new gallery you can still visit our old gallery (/photos) if you are looking for albums we haven’t added to our new gallery. I also decided to continue the site and new gallery as paparazzi-free. This means we will not move our “Candids” section from our old gallery to the new one and that we will stop posting candids of Rachel her every day life. Our main focus is to support Rachel’s career and we feel like candids (and gossip) are not part of that anymore. We will continue to post on-set photos and other work-related candids (like arriving at events).
I apologize for any inconvenience the moving of the gallery might cause (like dead links) but I will promise to get everything working again as soon as possible. Please bear with us while we are undergoing this major -but exciting- change. But I promise, I’ve lots of (HQ) goodies for you coming up so stay tuned!
Rachel graced the cover of Instyle Magazine last November (2010), we already had some outtakes but thanks to our amazing co-web Helena we now have a larger version of 2 outtakes and a brand new outtake in our gallery. Links and previews are below, visit our gallery for the full version. Stay tuned for more additions!
Update: Just came across another outtake of Rachel’s instyle editorial. They used it in the editorial spread, but it wasn’t released until now. Be sure to watch the full version in our gallery as well. The set is now complete, but maybe in the future they will release unseen outtakes of this session.
