“Passion” gets Summer U.S. release

Passion” will be released in August of this year in the U.S. The distributor confirmed this to our twitter account. The official facebook account for the movie mentions August 1st VOD release and August 31st theatrical release, but those seem generic dates to me. Let’s hope we will get an official announcement with firm release dates soon!

The movie premiered during the Venice Film Festival last year, followed by a Toronto and New York Film Festival premiere.

More Additional “Passion” Stills

Even more additional production stills of “Passion” are added in our gallery. Thanks to Geoff for pointing them out. The movie will be released in Germany this week and was released in the Netherlands, Russia, Hungary and Iceland last week according to IMDB. The movie is expected to get a (limited) release in the US and UK later this year.

The movie is expected to be released this July in the US, and it recently found a UK distributor who is aiming for a 2013 release as well.

“Passion” finds UK Distributor

Screendaily is reporting that “Passion” found a distributor for the UK and Ireland. Metrodome will release the movie in the UK later this year.

Metrodome has picked up UK and Ireland rights to Brian De Palma’s Passion. The deal was negotiated by Carole Baraton from Wild Bunch and Metrodome’s head of acquisitions Giles Edwards. Theatrical release is scheduled for later in the year.

And some news on the US release date: FilmStage reported a few days ago that the US distributor EntertainmentOne is aiming for a July 2013 release for the movie in the US.

But on to the good news: we’ve received word that Brian De Palma‘s Passion, a title anticipated by many around these here parts, is finally coming to U.S. theaters this July, courtesy of eOne. (A specific date is not locked in at this time, though, with distribution handled by a smaller company, competing blockbusters shouldn’t be much of a deterrent in selection.)

Making Of “Passion”

The Making Of “Passion” appeared online. It features on set interviews with Rachel, Noomi Rapace, Karoline Herfurth and director Brian de Palma and some unseen movie clips/footage. Thanks to Jord for the heads up! It could contain some spoilers, so be aware of that before watching it!

Passion” is already released in France and Belgium and is expected to hit limited theaters in the US somewhere in June of this year.

TIFF 2012 Media Archive Round-up

While working on our new media archive I realized that I never added the videos of Rachel during the Toronto International Film Festival back in September of this year. Be sure to watch all the TIFF 2012 videos under our ‘TIFF 2012′ tag. She did some great interviews to promote “Passion” and “To The Wonder” at the festival including with Variety Studio, THR and Vanity Fair.

We are slowly moving our videos to our new archive, so be sure to frequently check out our latest uploads. We already have +80 videos for you to watch!

We added a brand new still of “Passion” featuring Rachel in our gallery. Many thanks to Geoff for the heads up on the line-ups! “Passion” is expected to hit theaters next year.

In other movie news, the “About Time” script editor Emma Freud wrote on twitter yesterday that the movie had it’s first test screening for an audience in the UK. The movie will hit theaters March 22 next year in the UK followed by a May 10 release for the US.

New York Times released a bunch of new stills of “Passion” in their interview with director Brian de Palma during the New York Times Film Festival including two new ones with Rachel. The movie will have it’s US premiere during the festival tonight (September 29). Briandepalma.org is reporting that the festival added a new screening because it was already sold out. We added the stills in our gallery, sadly not the best quality, but we hope we will be able to replace them with better quality soon. You can enjoy this one in the mean time!
