The Wrap is reporting that Rachel and her sister (and make-up artist) Kayleen will be featured in season five (second season at TLC) of “Who Do You Think You Are?“. As we reported on our official twitter account Rachel was spotted filming in Plymouth (UK) a few weeks ago for a series about “her ancestry” but now we officially have confirmation. BBC originally aired the genealogy documentary series in the UK and the American version was adapted by NBC before moving to TLC last year. It has not yet been announced when the episode with Rachel and Kayleen is going to air but the series premiere is July 23 at 9/8c.
The second season of TLC’s genealogy docu-series “Who Do You Think You Are?” will feature six new journeys with Valerie Bertinelli, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Lauren Graham, Kelsey Grammer, Cynthia Nixon, Rachel McAdams and her sister, Kayleen McAdams.
Also, TLC has acquired 10 episodes from the show’s previous seasons on NBC. The episodes feature Matthew Broderick, Lisa Kudrow, Rob Lowe, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Brooke Shields, Vanessa Williams and Rita Wilson.
The show returns for its second season on TLC and its fifth season overall on Wednesday, July 23 at 9/8c.
It features stars uncovering secrets and learning their histories as they travel the world in search of their family histories. They often discover how history has shaped their lives, and how personality traits have been passed down.
Ancestry.com will once again serve as a sponsor and partner on the show, providing research that will help each journey of discovery.
Kudrow and “Scandal” star Dan Bucatinsky serve as executive producers via their production company Is or Isn’t Entertainment. Shed Media US also produces with executive producers Pam Healey, Stephanie Schwam and Alex Graham.
TLC renewed the series last September after a summer season that averaged 1.8 million viewers per episode. It featured Christina Applegate, Kelly Clarkson, Cindy Crawford, Zooey Deschanel, Chelsea Handler, Chris O’Donnell, and Trisha Yearwood.
