Latest Press Highlights: “The Vow”, “Morning Glory” and “Siler Linings”

News is coming in slowly the past few week(s) since Rachel is done with the promo for “Midnight in Paris” and no official confirmation so far on any possible projects. We do however have some latest news bits for you.

• We came across a brand new on set photo from “The Vow”. (via Fanforum) Rachel’s co-star Dillon Casey posted it on his official twitter account. Rachel is posing with her co-stars Channing Tatum, Sam Neill, Dillon Casey and Jessica McNamee. You can find the preview below and be sure to watch it in our gallery.

• We also came across a brand new outtake from Rachel’s promotional shoot for “Morning Glory”. She looks absolutely stunning, again the preview can be found below and the full outtake in our gallery.

• We reported earlier Rachel is one of the actresses who was testing for the lead in “The Silver Linings Playbook” with director David O Russell and starring Mark Wahlberg as male lead. Today Deadline is reporting that actress Jennifer Lawrence is the front runner for the role which means, if the news is true, Rachel will not be in the movie. Keep in mind nothing is confirmed (yet).

“Midnight in Paris” Becomes Woody Allen’s Top Film

We reported you a couple of times with box office results from “Midnight in Paris” because it’s breaking record after record. As predicted, “Midnight in Paris” has become Woody Allen‘s Top film of all time this friday. You can read the article The Hollywood reporter wrote about it below.

The specialty film’s cume through Friday is $40.4 million, beating “Hannah and Her Sisters.”

The boy wizard, a.k.a Harry Potter, wasn’t the only film breaking records at the domestic box office on Friday.

Sleeper hit Midnight in Paris has become Woody Allen’s top grossing pic of all time in North America, a sizeable victory for the filmmaker and Sony Pictures Classics.

Starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams, Midnight in Paris grossed as much as $500,000 on Friday, pushing its total to $40.4 million and overtaking Hannah and Her Sisters, which cumed $40.1 million in 1986 (not accounting for inflation).

Midnight in Paris is the rare specialty title that catches fire with general audiences. The movie opened in only six theaters on May 20 to score one of the best location averages of all time ($99,834) at the domestic box office. At its widest point, the film played in more than 1,000 theaters. Its current count is 700.

New Candids: Out & About biking in Toronto

Rachel was seen biking around in Toronto yesterday (July 12) with Michael Sheen. We added two photos, but we hope we can add more later. Thanks to Cat for pointing them out to us. The day before yesterday Rachel and Michael went to the U2 concert in Toronto according to some twitter sightings.

Update: We added a bunch more of photos to the set. Be sure to watch them all in our gallery.

Press Highlights: SH2, The Vow & Twitter

There isn’t much to update you on lately. Rachel is done with promoting “Midnight in Paris” and there is still no confirmation on the ‘in development’ projects like “Luna“, “The Silver Linings Playbook” and “Ecstasia“. But here are some press highlights from this week.

• The first official trailer for “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” was released yesterday. It aired on Entertainment tonight and was released via Itunes afterwards. You can watch and download the trailer via this link. The official website is also up, with a temporary version. Rachel only has a cameo (small part) in the movie, so we didn’t get any footage of Rachel as Irene Adler in the trailer.

• Scott Speedman recently talked to Movie Web about one of his recent movies, but he also talked a little bit about “The Vow” and his character. We added the quote to our “The Vow” information page.

Can you talk about your character in The Vow at all?
My character in The Vow is I’m Rachel McAdams’ ex-fiancee. She loses her memory in the movie and she can’t remember her current husband, Channing Tatum, but she remembers me, so she goes back to her old life and we kind of spark things up a little bit. It’s a good character, a bit different than the stuff I’ve usually done, which was interesting for me to do. It was great to work with all those people.

• We can also report Rachel does not have a twitter account. Michael Sheen, her “Midnight in Paris” co-star, confirmed himself a few hours ago she doesn’t have a twitter account when someone asked him. You can follow our twitter account @rachelmonline.

• “Midnight in Paris” still goes strong in the US. It’s still in the top 12 after being released in May, and it’s on it’s way to be Woody Allen’s highest-grossing movie ever!

Rounding out the Top 12, Midnight in Paris declined 26 percent to $2.6 million. With a total of $38.6 million, it’s now a lock to pass Hannah and Her Sisters ($40.1 million) to become director Woody Allen’s highest-grossing movie ever.

More Information on “Brilliant” with Matthew McConaughey

We reported before there was a possibility about Rachel being involved in “Brilliant” with Matthew McConaughey. Thanks to Chris we now have full access to the article. Rachel is currently in early talks for the project, the movie is still in development and the production will start Summer/Fall 2011.

Rachel McAdams is in early talks to star opposite Matthew McConaughey in the heist drama BRILLIANT. The film, which is being produced by Lakeshore Entertainment, from a recently rewritten script by Nicholas Kazan, centers on a master thief who is forced to pair up with a sexy young con artist in order to pull off a billion dollar diamond heist. With the new draft in place, producers are moving toward a mid-to-late 2011 start date, and if McAdams signs on, look for it to be soon.

Logline: A master thief is forced to pair up with a sexy young con artist in order to pull off a billion dollar diamond heist.

Director: Robert Luketic
Screenplay: Gillian Gorfil, Elizabeth Shorten
Producer: Gary Lucchesi, Gillian Gorfil, Sidney Kimmel, Tom Rosenberg
Writers: Nicholas Kazan (Re-write), Gillian Gorfil, Elizabeth Shorten, Nicholas Lorentz
Genre: Drama, Adventure, Crime
Notes: Production slated for Summer/Fall 2011, Barry Levinson, Jon Amiel and Sam Bayer were all previously attached to direct at different times, Scarlett Johansson was previously attached to star, Project previously in development with Emmett/Furla Films and Nu Image/Millennium, Project previously set up at Relativity Media.

Another Possible Project with Matthew McConaughey?

We came across another possible future project via The Tracking Board. The site posted an article on February 15, 2011 with the title “Rachel McAdams Set To Play Sexy Con-Woman To Matthew McConaughey’s Master Thief!“. The article is only available for subscribers, so can not access the full article but the title suggests that Rachel is possibly involved in a project with Matthew McConaughey called “Brilliant“.

We tried to find more sources that confirm this news, or even more information on this project but we did not find any so we are kind of doubting if it’s true. It will help a lot if we have the complete article, so if someone has a subscription to The Tracking Board please send us an e-mail. The Tracking Board recently reported about a possible involvement in “Ecstasia” with James McAvoy but no confirmation so far.

“Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” Trailer gets Rated + SH1 Update

The first trailer for “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” was recently rated (June 27th, 2011) and got a PG rating and the running time will be 2:16. It’s most likely the trailer will be released soon, and we have the feeling it could be attached to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ which will hit theaters July 15th.

We also added a lot of additions to the “Sherlock Holmes” gallery section, thanks so Downey Unlimited. We added more production stills, two new promo photoshoots and official behind the scenes photos.
