First of all: Happy Valetine’s Day. Nextmovie asked favorite romantic movies in recent interviews with actors in the spirit of Valentine’s Day and Rachel co-star “The Vow” Channing Tatum, Teresa Palmer and Mark Wahlberg picked “The Notebook” as their favorite. They also praise Rachel & Ryan Gosling, the director and the movie itself.
Nextmovie also picked “The Notebook” as most Romantic Movies Ever … This Millennium as number #5. Are you going to watch “The Notebook” for Valentine’s day?
Channing Tatum (Step Up, Dear John)
“Animal movies I love, but, look, Nicholas Sparks and ‘The Notebook.’ Every damn time.”“Every time, my wife looks up at me like, ‘Promise we’re going to die together the same day.’ I’m like I don’t want to talk about how we’re going to die. Check that for a second and let’s talk about how we’re going to live and then when were 80, we can worry about it then. Right now, we’ve got 50 more years.”
Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four, December Boys)
“I love ‘The Notebook‘ so much. The music, the performances, the story, them dying together at the same time… nothing could really beat that in my eyes.”“My mom every year buys me ‘Notebook’ memorabilia every year for Christmas.”
“It is definitely [a movie] I feel totally connected to. It’s a period piece, and I would love to be in film like that. Also, I’m a huge fan of Rachel McAdams. She’s one of my girl crushes.”
Mark Wahlberg (The Figther, The Lovely Bones)
“My favorite romantic movie of recent times is definitely ‘The Notebook.’”“It’s just a great love story with a great script, great direction and great acting. Everything about it is top-notch. It’s one of those rare romantic movies that you can watch again and again”.
“Plus, my wife liked that one, so that basically moves it to the top no matter what.”

Warner Bros. confirmed Rachel’s cameo in “Sherlock Holmes 2” as Irene Adler to Entertainment Weekly. Read the article below:
Warner Bros. confirms to EW what those of you who’ve seen the French video circulating online today with images from the set of the studio’s Sherlock Holmes sequel have already figured out: Rachel McAdams will return for a cameo in the follow-up to the 2009 holiday season hit.
No details were provided on what McAdams’ character Irene Adler is up to in the film.
After getting the best news yesterday, the fact that “Midnight in Paris” is going to be the opening film for Cannes this year, we have even more exciting news for you today. Rachel was seen on set of Sherlock Holmes 2 after months of rumors and speculations. During the “Morning Glory” Press tour she admitted it was not sure she would return for the sequel and if she did return it would only be a cameo or a small part.
But now it’s official. Rachel was seen yesterday (February 2nd) with Guy Richie on set in Strasbourg (France). Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were also seen on set. Since the filming for the squeal is coming to an end it’s most likely Rachel will make a cameo, like she said, as Irene in the film. But it’s still exciting since she was amazing in the first “Sherlock Holmes“.
We added a few set photos, including a close up of Rachel with Guy Richie, in our gallery. You can watch a new segment of the local Strasbourg television about the filming of “Sherlock Holmes 2” in Strasbourg.
Update: We added another photo of Rachel on set. According to multiple new sources they are shooting the opening scene(s) in Strasbourg. Jude Law was not seen on set but Robert Downey Jr. was. It sounds like Rachel will make a cameo in the opening scene, maybe she will appear in the opening scene but nothing is confirmed.

Update: Due to copyright infringement we had to remove the photo of Rachel with Guy Richie on set of Sherlock Holmes.

This is really good news: “Midnight in Paris” will open the 64th Festival de Cannes which is held from May 11 until May 22. The film is directed by Woody Allen and Rachel will star alongside Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody and more.
The film will also open in France on May 11. It’s not confirmed when the US/world wide release will be. We added the first official movie still in our gallery of Owen Wilson and Rachel. Let’s hope Rachel will attend the Cannes Film Festival.
Midnight in Paris, the new film by Woody Allen will open the Festival de Cannes on May 11th in the LumièreTheatre, in the presence of the Jury presided by Robert De Niro.
The romcom, which was shot last year in the French capital, brings together a broad international cast, including Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Marion Cotillard, as well as Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Gad Elmaleh and Léa Seydoux.
Following London (Match Point) and Barcelona (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), it’s the turn of Paris to be honoured by the lens of the New York film director most appreciated by European audiences.
“Midnight in Paris is a wonderful love letter to Paris“, declared Festival director Thierry Frémaux. “It’s a film in which Woody Allen takes a deeper look at the issues raised in his last films: our relationship with history, art, pleasure and life. His 41st feature reveals once again his inspiration.”
Produced by Médiapro (Spain) and Gravier Productions (New York), and distributed by Mars Films in France, the film is to be released in France the same day it is screened at Cannes. French audiences will thus be able to enjoy it in 400 theatres throughout the country. For this occasion, the Festival de Cannes wishes, with the consent of its partner Canal+ and the support of the national federation of French theaters, to make the Opening Ceremony of the Festival available to any theatre requesting it, so that their audiences can experience live the entire programme of the Opening Night of the Festival.
In this way, the Festival de Cannes underlines the strong ties that unite it with the theatres and their audiences, and draws attention to the films in the Official selection.
