Rachel will return for ‘Sherlock Holmes 2‘ but not as a lead according to Scifiwire.com.
Rachel McAdams will return, but …
If he’s planning to shoot in the fall, Silver will have to cast his Moriarty soon. Downey is back as Holmes, and Jude Law returns as Dr. Watson. Silver even said that McAdams would reappear but that she wouldn’t be the leading lady this time.“She’ll be present,” was all Silver would say.
The start of shooting is not that far away.
First off, Silver thinks it will be ready to shoot before the end of this year. “We’ll start shooting in the fall and coming out maybe the following year,” Silver said on May 22 in Hollywood.
We know it will be amazing for two reasons: 1 Rachel is in it and 2 JJ Abrams is the producer. Rachel is the main lead in this movie, so we are really excited!
Today the trailer came out, and it is Rachel as we have never seen before, yet all her brillance is still present. Morning Glory will open November 12th 2010. You can watch the trailer below and in our media archive, I’ve added the screencaptures in our gallery. I will replace those with HQ/HD ones as soon as possible.

Rachel is still not officially in the go for Sherlock Holmes 2, but Robert Downey Jr. gave us a little more insight. Check it out:
Downey also spoke about who will return for the sequel, such as his Sherlock Holmes co-star Rachel McAdams, although it seems that those decisions haven’t been made as of yet.
“It’s hard to say [who is coming back],” Downey said. The biggest question mark is on Holmes’ love interest in the first outing, played by Rachel McAdams. “Because Irene Adler only appeared in one of the stories of Doyle’s reservoir of activities. But we’ll find out quickly.”
