Harrison Ford has given the hi-sign to TV wunderkind J.J. Abrams to star in “Morning Glory,” a film about an aspiring news producer who attempts to save a failing morning show be quelling the tempers of its anchors.
According to Variety, Abrams will produce the piece for Paramount. Ford will play one of the anchors, an old-school journalism vet, and the studio is in talks with Rachel McAdams to take the producer role.
Ford was last seen on screen in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” this summer. McAdams was last seen in “The Lucky Ones” with Tim Robbins this fall. She will be seen in “State of Play” in spring 2009 with such stars as Helen Mirren, Russell Crowe, and Jason Bateman.
